Google Assistant on Oneplus 3

As you probably already know, Google Assistant has to stop being exclusive to the Google Pixel and reach all Android phones equipped with Android 6.0 or higher. Because it is being performed as an update of OTA to Google Play Services, this is allowing the deployment to not be as slow as it can be with other types of functions. In fact, Google Assistant is already coming to OnePlus 3 via OTA.

Typically a software update requires a long trial period for phone companies and manufacturers. However this does not seem to be happening with Google Assistant since according to PhoneArena, the owners of OnePlus 3 (not those of the OnePlus 3T) are already receiving the update that brings the virtual assistant Google to the smartphone.

Last week we were already echoing the company’s announcement of the deployment of Google Assistant to Android smartphones with Marshmallow and Android Nougat. At that time we saw some of the compatible smartphones were the LG G5, HTC 10, Motorola Moto X, Nexus 6P, Nexus 5X and Samsung Galaxy S7 Edge, although as can be verified, this list is growing rapidly.

Google Assistant is the ultimate virtual personal assistant for Android users. Unlike Google Now, the Wizard is more conversational and learns from our habits to provide punctual and accurate information. Currently there are a large number of Android devices scheduled to receive the Google Assistant, so the update may take quite a while to get to your phone, whether or not it is a OnePlus 3.

According to PhoneArena the update was released yesterday, but to this day there are still different terminals that cannot enjoy the advantages of Google Assistant, it seems that the release of the software is occurring in a staggered way.

If you have a OnePlus terminal in your possession and you want to test if you already have the possibility to use Google Assistant on your smartphone, you should access the Google application settings within the phone’s settings menu and locate the Google Assistant customization options.

Have you already received the Google Assistant on the OnePlus 3? If so, tell us what you think is working in the comments in this article.
