According to the statement of a company executive, it is possible that Google Assistant will be available for iPhone.
Google has always tried to bring their free apps and services to as many users as possible. This is the reason why Android was a brilliant move on the part of Google, as it has created an operating system that gives access to its services to more than 1 billion people every day.
The more they use their phones, the more Google learns about their users and the better advertising they can show. Google does a lot to help users, but it is an advertising company above anything else.
Google Assistant is the company’s answer to Apple’s assistant Siri and Alexa from Amazon. Google’s goal is for its new wizard to reach as many users as possible and that means the limit cannot be on Android.
Gummi Hafsteinsson, Google Product Manager at Google Asistant, spoke at MWC about this assistant. When asked if Google Assistant will reach iOS and specifically the iPhone, the executive replied:
“I do not think we have anything to announce at this time … but I think the general philosophy is that we want Assistant to reach as many people as possible.”
Reading between the lines, it seems that Google Assistant will arrive at iOS in the future and who knows if we will not see it also integrated into other operating systems like Windows 10.
