Honor is ready to unveil its new flagship device, Honor 9, as successor to Honor 8 which has proved to be a great success for the company. After the arrival of Honor 6A, the brand would now be ready to show the characteristics of Honor 9 in society, which should be presented throughout the next month welcoming the summer in the best way.
After a few rumors associated with the device, here comes a new smartphone Honor with high-end specifications that just appeared on the TENAA under the model numbers STF-AL00 and STF-AL10. Everything seems to indicate that this would be the expected Honor 9, which like its predecessor would also come with a double rear camera.
It would also share design with Honor 8, as among the features of Honor 9 there is also a glass back body but with curved edges. The image of a recently filtered advertising teaser suggests that the smartphone launch event will be held on June 27 in Berlin. However, there is no official confirmation of the launch date by the company.
Possible characteristics of Honor 9
According to the leaked specifications, this is a compact smartphone that has a 5.15-inch Full HD display (1920 x 1080 pixels). It is a slightly smaller display than the 5.2 inch screen of its predecessor. Under the hood, we could see the octa-core processor of Huawei Kirin 960, running at 2.4 GHz speed and with variants of 4 GB RAM and 6 GB RAM along with 64 GB of internal storage. There would also be the possibility of expansion using a MicroSD slot compatible with cards up to 128 GB.
As for the multimedia features of Honor 9, the list mentions the configuration of the aforementioned dual camera on the back with two 12 MP and 2MP lenses, although it is expected to include dual 12 MP sensors as seen in Honor 8. The rear camera would also be accompanied by a dual-tone LED flash and autofocus laser, while the front camera would be 8 MP. The device could also include a slightly larger battery, with a capacity of 3,100mAh and internal SuperCharge fast charge technology.
The Honor 9, as seen in the TENAA measures 147.3 × 70.9 × 7.45 mm and weighs 155 grams. Run Android 7.1 Nougat with the EMUI 5.1 personalization layer and there would be, for the first time, a physical start button on the phone instead of the logo. Hopefully, as in the Huawei P10, this includes the fingerprint sensor with support trim gestures.
