Today was the day chosen by Microsoft for the public launch of Teams, its new collaboration tool which comes to compete in a segment especially dominated by Slack and the different competitors coming out along the way, the most recent of them being Hangouts Google Chat, which will be integrated into G Suite.
In this respect, Teams is integrated into Office 365 and is now available for its 85 million monthly active users both on the web and in the different native applications available for Windows, Android and iOS, reaching the 181 markets and also supporting 19 different languages.
Microsoft points out that since the launch of the preview in November, more than 50,000 organizations have joined teams to manage their group conversations, which has allowed over 100 new features during this time, among which are the main requests made by customers of this tool. It happens that last week there was a major update with improvements and new features.
Microsoft offers a modern and customizable space through which organizations can adapt to their needs, as well as integrating applications and services of Office 365 as third parties, including the possibility of using bots in their service. In addition to all this, from Microsoft guarantee the availability of advanced security capabilities with support for global standards such as SOC1, SOC2, ISO27001, and more.
They promise that they will regularly offer new capabilities and features that have been emphasized, for example, guest access capabilities for the month of June coupled with deeper integration in Outlook as well as an improved platform for developers.
