In the official presentation of the Xiaomi Mi 5s, the Chinese company was releasing an interesting novelty related to the fingerprint reader of the device. More specifically, with the technology used and as we remember, the Mi 5s became the first terminal to have an ultrasonic fingerprint reader, integrated under the glass of the screen.
This technology even offers some advantages such as the possibility of using the fingerprint reader even with wet or dirty hands, as well as protects from possible damages; It left a lot to be desired in terms of performance and speed. So much so, that everything seems to point to the new Xiaomi Mi 6 will not integrate this type of sensor.
As stated in GizmoChina, certain Chinese sources close to Xiaomi have confirmed the company’s intention to abandon this sensor technology in its new star terminal, which should be presented within few weeks.
The strange thing is that the main reason for this change will not be due to the performance nor the quality of the sensors used in the Mi 5s, whose manufacturer is the Californian Qualcomm. The real reason to return to the lifelong reader would be collaboration with a company of Chinese origin, which Xiaomi will sponsor with the Mi 6, its new flagship.
Apart from all of the above, this filtration confirms new details about the terminal. According to the data provided, the Mi 6 will go on sale in April of this year, and of course, its interior will be reigned by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 835 processor. So, we assume that the official presentation of the Xiaomi Mi 6 will be held soon.
