Apple released the third beta of the upcoming iOS 10.3 update to developers, two weeks after the second beta of iOS 10.3 and more than two months after the release of iOS 10.2, the latest major update of the iOS 10 operating system.
Registered developers can download the third beta version of iOS 10.3 from the Apple Developer Center or from the appropriate configuration profile installed.
This update of iOS 10.3 is quite important as it introduces several new features and changes to the iOS 10 operating system. The new biggest feature for the consumer is “Find My AirPods”, which is designed to help AirPods owners locate a lost headset. “Find My AirPods” records the last known location when an AirPod was connected to an iOS device via Bluetooth and can play a sound on a lost AirPod.
Apple’s latest update also introduces a new Apple File System (APFS), installed when an iOS device is upgraded to iOS 10.3. APFS is optimized for flash / SSD storage and includes features such as strong encryption.
Apple plans to introduce some changes to the app store in iOS 10.3, allowing developers to respond to customer criticism for the first time. iOS users can also tag app store comments like “Useful” or ” Not useful “, which should help to overcome the content of the most relevant review.
There’s a new “Application Compatibility” section that shows apps that may not work with a future version of iOS. As it has been discovered in previous betas, when opening one of these applications on your iOS device appears a warning with a not compatible sentence. Application compatibility can be accessed by opening “Settings” and selecting “General” and then “Applications”.
The wait is shortened to enjoy the interesting changes.
