The Aspect of Charon with a big cast build represents one of the most powerful combinations in Hades II.
This build focuses on maximizing Omega cast damage through strategic boon selections and god synergies. Here’s everything you need to know to replicate this devastating setup.
The Absolute Core of the Build

Everything starts with one boon: Poseidon’s Geyser Spout for your Cast. Getting this is your number one job. You want to grab this before you even fight the first mini-boss. To make sure you do, I always slap on Poseidon’s keepsake right at the start of a run.
Once you have it, you’re golden. This is what pushes your damage through the roof.
(A quick heads-up: skip the Enteronic boon. Even though it fires an Omega Cast, the game doesn’t count it for the combos we need, so it’s a trap for this setup.)
What to Grab After the Core
Now, you need to make that big Cast hit even harder. Your next big goal is to get the Origination duo boon (from Apollo and Poseidon). To activate its huge 50% damage bonus, you need to apply at least two different curse effects to enemies.
Here’s how I round out my god list:
Apollo is your best friend here. Look for Lucid Gain to fix your magic regen, and Solar Flare for a straight percentage damage bump to your Casts.
Demeter is how you get that second curse. Arctic Gale is perfect for it. Also, snag Local Climate from her for even more of that sweet percentage-based Cast damage.
Think of it this way: Geyser Spout jacks up your base damage, and then all these percentage boosts from Apollo and Demeter multiply that huge number. That’s how you start clearing rooms in one shot.
The Two Hammer Upgrades You Want
There are two hammer upgrades that make a huge difference here. You’ll want to keep an eye out for them.
Giga Cleaver: This is the grand prize. It makes your Omega Special fire two casts instead of one. That’s double the damage. Just remember, you need to spam your Cast button right after you release the special to shoot the second one. The timing is tight, but it’s so worth it.
Sudden Cleaver: If you don’t find Giga, this is your solid backup. It makes you charge your Omega Special much faster. It’s not as flashy, but it makes the whole build feel smoother and safer.
How to Fight and Move

The best part of Charon’s weapon is that you can dash while charging your Omega Special. Never stop moving. If you’re standing still while charging, you’re a sitting duck. Always be dashing to stay safe.
Your fighting rhythm is simple:
Dash around to charge up.
Release to fire your big Geyser Spout.
Keep dashing to recover your magic and line up the next shot.
Repeat.
Against crowds, aim your casts to hit as many enemies as possible. The blast is huge and knocks them back, so use walls or group them up to clear rooms fast. Your positioning is everything—use it to control the fight.
Managing the Five-God Pool
Once you’ve naturally picked up boons from four different gods, the game will usually stop offering you new ones. That’s why we have to plan for our core team: Poseidon, Apollo, Demeter, and a fourth like Zeus for a little extra punch.
If you’re, say, three gods in and still missing Demeter for her Arctic Gale curse, don’t panic. Just put on her keepsake at the next fountain. This lets you force her to appear and can totally save a run that’s missing a key piece.
Speaking of Zeus, don’t go out of your way for him. Boons like Static Shock or Ionic Gain are nice little extras for some extra damage or mana, but they’re just the icing on the cake. Your main focus should always be on locking down Apollo and Demeter after you get your core Poseidon cast.
Secondary Boon Priorities
Once you have Poseidon, Apollo, and Demeter locked in, look for boons that make your big hits even bigger. Here’s what I prioritize:
Apollo’s Mental Block: An easy choice. It just flat out adds a huge chunk of damage to your Cast.
Hera’s Extended Family: This is a sneaky-good pick. It boosts the power of all your percentage-based damage boons, like Apollo’s Solar Flare, making them even stronger.
You might see Air Quality (from Hera and Zeus). It can buff multiple boons at once, but it usually requires a five-god pool, which is tricky to set up. It’s a fun option if you get it, but don’t stress over it.
Avoid Aphrodite here. Her boons don’t really help what we’re doing. Her special doesn’t fit, and her magic-regen boon is too weak to be worth it. Stick to gods that power up your Cast directly.
Boss Fight Strategy
This build absolutely shreds bosses like the Dracon. Use Twilight Curse (the Omega Special debuff) to keep damage ticking on the boss while you focus on dodging and lining up your shots.
A few key tips:
Go in swinging. Start each phase aggressively. There’s a damage cap per phase anyway, so unload everything you have.
Clear the room first. When the boss summons other enemies, take them out fast. You can’t afford the distraction.
Watch your magic. This is the biggest thing. Never spend your last bit of magic unless you know you have time to regen. Time your shots so you always have enough for a cast when a clean opening appears. If you have an item that helps with magic regen, this is when it pays off.
Common Mistakes to Avoid
Don’t forget to defend yourself. This build hits hard, but charging your big shot leaves you open. If you just stand still, you’ll burn through your extra lives. Always be moving.
Don’t take boons that mess with your cast. Things like Howling Soul might sound cool, but they can make your casts fly to the wrong target. Only pick boons that clearly make your cast damage higher or help apply curses.
Never stop dashing while you charge. This is your #1 survival tool. Practice until dashing and charging at the same time feels automatic.
Build Variations and Flexibility
The one thing you must have is Poseidon’s Geyser Spout. Everything else can be adjusted.
If you can’t find Demeter for her Arctic Gale curse, Zeus with Static Shock can work as a backup, though it’s not quite as good.
If you just never find the Geyser Spout cast, consider switching plans entirely. The Momus aspect of the weapon focuses on your Attack and Special instead, and is a strong alternative.
For keepsakes, after you get Poseidon’s cast, choose based on your needs. The Fleece is great for defense if you’re getting hit, and extra Gold can help you buy the exact boons you’re missing later.
How to Optimize Your Run
You want to be fast and efficient.
Be aggressive and choose your path carefully. Go for rooms with god boons early on. Save your gold for shops in the later areas where you can buy specific upgrades.
Use your rerolls wisely. Spend them trying to get key boons like Mental Block or Local Climate, but don’t waste all your gold before an important shop.
When upgrading boon rarity, focus on the percentage-based ones (like Local Climate). Boosting those gives you more value than upgrading a flat damage increase, because they multiply your already huge base damage.
Final Thoughts
When everything clicks, this is one of the most powerful builds in the game. Here’s your simple recipe for success:
Get Poseidon’s Geyser Spout. No exceptions.
Get two curses (from Apollo and Demeter/Zeus) to activate the Origination duo boon.
Stack percentage damage boosts after that.
Master the dash-charge technique to stay safe.
Do this, and you’ll tear through rooms and bosses alike. It just takes a bit of practice to get the boon selections and the rhythm down. Good luck
