10. Quill Volley Spiritborn (Spiritorn Build)
This is the only Spiritorn build to crack Season 8’s top ten, but it earns its place. Gameplay footage from Dronics shows why this build is regarded as the best choice for Spiritorns, despite some drawbacks.
Strengths:
- A great all-purpose build that performs well in various game modes.
- The top option for Spiritorn players due to its adaptability.
Weaknesses:
- Lags behind the best builds for other classes.
- Struggles at the highest dungeon-pushing levels.
Key Mechanics:
- Uses the Harmony of Ibwaka unique helm to triple-classify Quill Volley as an Eagle, Gorilla, and Jaguar skill, stacking powerful damage multipliers.
- Pairs with the Rod of Kelei to maximize vigor and boost critical strike mechanics.
- Relies on the Midnight Sun ring, enabling a constant up-and-down “ping-pong” of vigor generation.
While not as overpowered as it was in Season 6, Quill Volley remains the Spiritorn player’s best bet, though buffs would be appreciated.
9. Frozen Orb Sorcerer
The Frozen Orb Sorcerer makes a comeback thanks to the return of the Fractured Winterglass amulet. Gameplay from Lurkin showcases its impressive synergy between Frozen Orb and conjurations like the Lightning Spear.
Key Gear:
- Fractured Winterglass Amulet: Ensures conjurations spawn Frozen Orbs (and vice-versa), allowing for constant ability spam.
- Cool Down Implicits: Frozen Orb explosions reset conjuration cooldowns, enabling even faster casts.
If you enjoy flashy builds that fill the screen with icy blasts and lightning bolts, the Frozen Orb Sorcerer is worth a shot.
8. Mighty Throw Barbarian
Gameplay from Beat Dropper shows off the single-target dominance of the Mighty Throw Barbarian. This build thrives on cooldown manipulation and precise execution.
Build Highlights:
- Relies on the Third Blade unique sword, which removes Mighty Throw’s cooldown but adds a Fury cost.
- For high-dungeon scenarios, the Delayed Extinction aspect reintroduces the cooldown, converting it into a multiplicative damage bonus (500% increased damage!).
- Uses Weapon Master Glyph for skill cooldown negation through rotation between Rupture, Death Blow, and Mighty Throw.
This barbarian build is all about mastering your timing and rotations to optimize damage output.
7. Earthquake Barbarian
Though it’s dropped a few spots this season, the Earthquake Barbarian remains a powerhouse. Gameplay by Old Fox illustrates this gritty build’s destructive mechanics.
Core Mechanics:
- Utilizes the Mantle of Mountain’s Fury, which enables Hammer of the Ancients to create seismic lines that explode for immense damage.
- Buffs Earthquake damage through the Lift Tech Rune combo, triggering quakes when you remain stationary for 0.3 seconds.
- Combines standing-ground bonuses with Hammer of the Ancients for powerful area damage.
Nerfed but not forgotten, the Earthquake Barbarian is still bringing the heat in Season 8.
6. Cataclysm Druid
This Druid build has taken a slight hit since last season but remains one of the most powerful across the board. Cataclysm, shown off by Boiler, demands attentive play for maximum effectiveness.
Changes in Season 8:
- Damage bonuses no longer snapshot between casts, making optimal execution key.
- Requires the MujolnÃk Ring, which doubles Cataclysm damage and grants unlimited spirit while active.
- Exploits the Tempest Roar helm to classify Cataclysm as a Werewolf skill, enabling additional buffs.
Cataclysm still rocks for Druids, but it requires a more skillful touch to perfect.
5. Call of the Ancients Barbarian
Often called the “Minion Barbarian,” this build showcases another variation of Earthquake mechanics. Gameplay by Snail reveals why this delivery system has risen in Season 8.
Why It Works:
- Ariatbearing Pants transform Korlick’s Call of the Ancients into Earthquake triggers.
- Season 8 buffs increased the variety of bonuses Call of the Ancients benefits from, pushing it higher on the tier list.
- Optimized for spamming abilities to keep your Ancients active and earthquakes detonating.
This build combines relentless ability spam with explosive damage, ideal for high-level players.
4. Death Trap Rogue
If you’re looking for efficiency and fun as a Rogue, the Death Trap build is the way to go. Matias the Gamer’s footage showcases its meteoric rise from 9th place last season.
Build Highlights:
- Features Eyes of the Dark unique pants, which enhance Death Trap’s damage by 150% and enable a second activation per cast.
- Utilizes Preparation, which reduces the cooldown of the ultimate based on energy spent.
- Synergizes with Beastfall Boots to make the most of core skills and ultimate-triggered energy regen.
Simple yet effective, Death Trap is the standout Rogue build this season.
3. Bone Spear Necromancer
Bone Spear makes its triumphant return in Season 8 and is one of the deadliest and most technical Necromancer builds. Sak demonstrates the finesse required to master it.
Core Mechanics:
- The Indira’s Memory axe classifies Bone Spear as a Blood skill, opening up new synergies while draining health for devastating attacks.
- Gear like Bone Duster boots ensures Bone Spears overpower and devastate enemies trapped in Bone Prisons.
- Deathless Visage helm boosts crit damage and enables double Bone Spear casts.
With careful positioning and tight rotations, this sniper-like build can dominate any level of content.
2. Bloodwave Necromancer
Once the king of Diablo IV builds, Bloodwave Necro has dropped to second place but remains a devastatingly strong contender, as Skullm’s gameplay demonstrates.
Build Essentials:
- The Legacy Pants create converging Blood Waves that pull and damage enemies surrounding you.
- Combines Aspect of Ultimate Shadow for Darkness skill synergy and Fast Blood Aspect to reduce Blood Wave cooldowns through Blood Orbs.
- Tidal Aspect further enhances Blood Wave casts, providing value for every activation.
While its throne might be contested this season, Bloodwave remains a top-tier Necromancer build capable of incredible carnage.
1. Lightning Spear Sorcerer
Climbing from 8th place to take the crown, the Lightning Spear Sorcerer is currently the strongest build in Season 8. The sheer synergy between skills and gear makes this build an unstoppable force.
What Makes It Shine:
- Exploits the Enlightenment passive, stacking fire, cold, and lightning bonuses for astronomical damage increases.
- Pairs with Sinerit Flames boss power, which amplifies elemental resistance bonuses, and Aspect of the Elements, which multiplies damage on alternating elements.
- Utilizes Ceday Bindings gloves, summoning all familiar variants at once and greatly enhancing relevant damage passives.
- Leans on Primordial Binding passive, which provides colossal scaling bonuses based on summoned familiars.
