How to Get the White Mask in Elden Ring

White Mask

If you want to get White Mask in Elden Ring, there are two things you need to do –

  1. Complete White Masked Varré’s Questline
  2. Exploring the Mohgwyn Palace area

First, here are the steps to completing the White Masked Varré’s Questline –

White Masked Varré’s Questline in Elden Ring

Step 1: Speak to Varré in Limgrave

  • Varré is one of the first NPCs you meet when you exit the tutorial area.
  • Interact with him but do not kill him, even though he can be quite rude.

Step 2: Obtain Your First Great Rune

  • After you get your first Great Rune, Varré will disappear from Limgrave.
  • In his place, you’ll find a message instructing you to visit Rose Church in Liurnia of the Lakes.

Step 3: Meet Varré at Rose Church

  • Head to Rose Church in Liurnia of the Lakes and speak to Varré, who will be outside.
  • When he asks what you thought of the Two Fingers, choose the dialogue option “They seemed off.”
  • Varré will then rant about the Two Fingers and give you five Festering Bloody Fingers.

Step 4: Use the Festering Bloody Fingers

  • Use three of these Bloody Fingers to invade other players’ worlds.
  • You don’t need to win these invasions, complete them.

Step 5: Return to Varré

  • After your third invasion, return to Varré.
  • He will commend you and then offer to anoint you into the service of Lord Mohg.
  • Accept the offer and he will hand you the Lord of Blood’s Favor, which is a white cloth.

Step 6: Soak the Cloth in Maiden’s Blood

  • You need to soak the cloth in the maiden’s blood. Here are your options:
    • Option 1: Kill Hyetta (not recommended as it affects other questlines).
    • Option 2: Travel to the Four Belfries and use the portal to the Chapel of Anticipation. You’ll find a dead maiden there (requires defeating the Grafted Scion boss).
    • Option 3: Visit the Church of Inhibition in Liurnia where you’ll find another dead maiden.

Step 7: Return to Varré

  • Once the cloth is soaked in blood, return to Varré.
  • He will inject your finger with noble blood and give you the Pureblood Knight’s Medal.

Step 8: Use the Pureblood Knight’s Medal

  • The medal teleports you to Mohgwyn Palace. You can use it immediately but be warned that this is a difficult area better suited for late-game.

Step 9: Head to the Dynasty Mausoleum Midpoint Site of Grace

  • Navigate through the Moghwyn Dynasty Mausoleum to reach this Grace site.

Step 10: Defeat Varré

  • Near the Grace site, you’ll find an invasion sign for Varré.
  • Touch the sight of Grace first, then summon and defeat Varré.
  • Loot his corpse for six Festering Bloody Fingers and his weapon, Varre’s Bouquet.

By following these steps, you’ll be able to defeat Varré and then get the white mask from Mohgwyn Palace.

How to Get the White Mask?

After you’ve defeated Varré, here’s how you get the white mask in Elden Ring

1. Reach Mogwin Palace

  • Use the Pureblood Knight’s Medal you received from Varré to teleport to Mohgwyn Palace.

2. Locate the Nameless White Mask Invaders:

  • Explore the Lake of Blood area near the Dynasty Mausoleum Entrance Site of Grace at Mohgwyn Palace.
  • You will encounter three different invaders known as Nameless White Masks (Vargram, the Raging Wolf Helm, and White Mask Varré).
  • These invaders appear in the Blood Lake area, so ensure you explore this region thoroughly.

3. Defeat the Invaders:

  • Defeat the Nameless White Mask invaders. They are randomly spawned, and you might need to defeat more than one to obtain the mask.

4. Loot the White Mask

One of these invaders will drop the White Mask along with pieces of the War Surgeon set upon defeat.

Why Get the White Mask?

You need the White Mask in “Elden Ring” because it boosts your attack power by 10% for 20 seconds whenever blood loss occurs nearby, making it an important piece for bleed-focused builds.

Apart from its special effect, the White Mask also strikes a good balance between physical and magical defense while being relatively lightweight

This enhancement makes it highly valuable for maximizing damage output in combat.
