Beating Promised Consort Radahn can be quite challenging.
This is why I’ve ranked him as one of the most difficult bosses in a list of Elden ring bosses.
But you can beat them with the right strategy and equipment. Here’s a step-by-step guide.
Who is Promised Consort Radahn?
Promised Consort Radahn is a formidable boss in the “Elden Ring: Shadow of the Erdtree” DLC.
He is the final boss of the Enir-Ilim Legacy Dungeon and the DLC as a whole. In the Elden Ring DLC, FromSoftware has made Radahn more swift and brutal than in the base game, making the fight against him particularly challenging.
You can find Radahn directly up the stairs from the Divine Gatefront Staircase Site of Grace.
In the second phase of the fight, he becomes known as “Radahn, Consort of Miquella”. Beating him is rewarding as you receive a significant sum of 500,000 Runes along with the Remembrance of a God and a Lord.
Recommended Loadout:
- Weapon: Use a thrusting weapon that has bleed or Scarlet Rot effects or any weapon with similar attributes will work well.
- Shield: The Fingerprint Stone Shield is essential as it allows you to attack while guarding.
- Armor: Radahn’s Armor (ignore the circlet initially).
- Talismans:
- Green Turtle Talisman: Essential for maintaining high stamina.
- Lord of Blood’s Exultation: Increases damage when a bleed occurs nearby.
- Erdtree’s Favor +2: Raises maximum HP, stamina, and Equip Load.
- Optional: Greatshield Talisman for boosting guarding ability.
- Wondrous Physick: Include stamina-boosting effects.
Defeating Promised Consort Radahn
Phase 1:
- Positioning:
- Fight next to a wall. The wall can mitigate many of Radahn’s attacks.
- Stamina Management:
- Keep your shield up and poke at Radahn whenever you have a chance.
- Be very mindful of your stamina. Prioritize blocking over attacking.
3. Attack Pattern:
- Radahn will open with certain predictable attacks. Stay defensive and only attack when it’s safe.
- Some of his attacks will raise rocks from the ground; fighting near the wall can often negate these attacks.
Phase 2:
- Annoying Grab Attack:
- Radahn has a grab attack that can be very troublesome. If you have the Miquella’s Rune (obtained after defeating the Scarlet Tree Avatar), use it immediately after you get grabbed.
- Dodging and Blocking:
- For fast attacks, move to the side while keeping your shield up. This will minimize damage.
- Key Defensive Strategies:
- If grabbed, make blocking a priority until you use Miquella’s Rune.
- Radahn will follow up certain attacks with a fast dash. Keep your shield up during these moments.
- Meteor Attack:
- Radahn’s meteor attack can be deadly. Staying near the wall limits the direction from which he can attack and helps mitigate damage.
- Don’t Rush:
- Stay patient throughout the fight. Do not overextend or rush your attacks, as this can lead to mistakes and unnecessary damage.
Additional Tips:
- Patience is Key: Do not get greedy with attacks. One or two pokes at a time while keeping your defense up is the best approach.
- High Stamina: Always ensure that you have enough stamina to block and dodge as needed.
- Wall as an Ally: Utilize the wall to block some of Radahn’s most dangerous attacks. This significantly reduces the difficulty of the fight.
- Mental Preparedness: Stay calm and collected. Don’t let the intensity of the fight overwhelm you.
Good luck with the fight against Promised Consort Radahn!

Where to go after defeating Star Scourge Radahn
Congratulations on defeating one of the toughest bosses in Elden Ring DLC!
Here’s what you can do next in Elden Ring DLC –
Two Great Rune Holders Remain:
- Morgott: Located in the capital city, Leyndell, to the east of the Altus Plains.
- Rykard: The serpent found in the volcanic region to the west of the Altus Plains.
How to Reach the Altus Plains:
- Option 1: Find both halves of the Dectus Medallion.
- Option 2: Follow along the river leading out of the Lake of Lirnia. Locate a cave at the end, which will take you through to the other side, bringing you to the Altus Plains.
Recommended Path:
- It’s suggested to head to the capital city (east) first. Your maiden in the Altus Plains will encourage you to head towards the capital city to reach the foot of the Erdtree, as she mentioned at the game’s start.
Activate Radahn’s Rune:
- Go to the Divine Tower of Caelid. This area involves some fun platforming challenges.
Additional Exploration:
- Consider backtracking to gather upgrade materials, check ruins, and pick up items. The game’s difficulty will ramp up, so it’s a great opportunity to prepare.
Special Note: Falling Star:
- Head to the south of Limgrave. A falling star, previously held back by Radahn, has crashed into the earth. It’s worth exploring this new area now that Radahn has been defeated.
By following this, you should help set your direction for achieving the last two great runes and exploring new exciting areas in the Elden Ring.
