The name of this man is Rajesh Maru and his age was 32. He was pulled towards the machine by the magnetic force of the machine when he just entered the room while carrying an oxygen cylinder as per the Mumbai police.

Ramesh Bharmal Dean of Nair Hospital: CCTV Footage Hand Over to Mumbai Police
It is assumed that the cylinder was then damaged after it hit the machine. The dean of the hospital whose name is Ramesh Bharmal had told AFP that an investigation had been launched just to determine the exact cause of death, which even added CCTV footage of the incident and had been handed over to the police.

Maharashtra Govt. Announced Compensation on MRI Machine Death to Victim Family
The state government of Maharashtra has now announced a compensation of 500,000 rupees for the family of the victim. MRI (Magnetic Resonance Imaging) machines produce a powerful magnetic field which is to produce the images of the organs of the body. The metallic objects are then pulled towards it and thus, they must not be carried into the room where the magnetic Resonance Imaging machine is kept.
Other MRI Machine Accidents:
This is not the first time that this unfortunate event is happening. In 2014 also this has happened when two hospital workers sustained injuries because they got pinned between an MRI machine and a metal oxygen tank for almost four hours at a hospital in New Delhi. In 2001 also this has happened with a six-year-old boy while undergoing an MRI scan in New York and he was killed when a metal oxygen tank that flew towards the machine and even crushed his skull.
While talking about it with the Atul Kulkarni, Previous president of Critical Care Medical Indian Society, He said It’s almost unbelievable to trust that the reason of death is exposure to oxygen cylinder. Let’s see what exactly Atul Kulkarni said on this Mumbai MRI machine accident.
Oxygen inside the cylinder is pressurised and in liquid form. Even if the cylinder’s nozzle had snapped and there was a leak, it will be diluted by the air in the MRI chamber. “If you shut all the doors of a room and open five of six oxygen cylinders, nothing will happen to you – I would be really surprised if the cause of death was oxygen,” Kulkarni said.
Although the inquiry is going on and soon, we will get to know about the real reason of Rajesh Maru death. Still, we urge everyone to be careful to avoid such accidents.
