Paper Soccer

Paper soccer is the first games like tic tac toe on this list. It’s like any other soccer games. The rules are simple, but it’s challenging enough to keep you engaged.

  • To begin, you’ve to draw one square randomly in the center of the sheet of paper. Then they draw lines connecting each of these squares until they reach a point where they can’t go any further, or there is no room left on the page for another line to be drawn (a dead end). The first person who cannot make any more moves loses!
  • This game has many variations, including: “Paper Soccer Plus,” in which players can draw as many lines as they want within each turn; “Paper Soccer with Drawbacks,” where every time someone uses up all their lines during a turn, the other person gets an extra turn; and “Paper Soccer with Reversals,” where instead of drawing from left to right or top-down you must start from the bottom up and go from right to leave, making it harder for others players to guess where exactly all those lines will be going!

Hangman is a word game where one player chooses a secret word, and the other tries to guess it. To play Hangman, write down the secret word on paper.

Each letter of the secret word is created by crossing out a random amount of lines that make up that letter.

For example, if you wanted your first word to be “cat,” then you would circle every other letter in “cat” on your paper until there was only one line left between each letter in “cat.” This would result in 4 letters remaining: A G T E

Connect Four

Connect Four is a game for two players. Each player has seven discs (four red and three black). The game’s objective is to get four of your discs in a row, either vertically, horizontally, or diagonally. Here’s how:

  • Both players drop one disc into the top column at their end of the board.
  • Players take turns dropping discs into an open area on any column, but if there already are four in a row of either color, you cannot place another disc there! If this happens, make sure that your next move is not over what would have been where your opponent could make another move for them not to win because they were “one step ahead”!

Battleship is a classic game where you draw a grid on the floor, and one person hides ships while another player tries to guess where they are.

The first person gets to place their ship anywhere on the board.

The second person has to try and guess where each ship is located by calling out coordinates. For example, if they think it’s located in row 4, column 5), they would say “4-5”.

Then, the first person can say “hit!” or “Miss!” If it’s hit, the second player gets another turn for another ship location until all five are spotted and destroyed by either side.

Checkers is another classic game like Tic Tac Toe played on an 8×8 checkerboard with 12 pieces per side. In English-speaking countries, it is called draughts.

The Canadian French name dames (literally “ladies”) refers to the board’s light and dark-colored squares. You win this game by capturing all your opponent’s pieces or leaving them unable to move.

Othello is a strategy board game for two players. It is played on a board of 8×8 squares; each player has four pieces of their color. The game’s objective is to move all its parts into the opponent’s territory.

To win, you must capture more pieces than your opponent by placing them so they cannot escape from your trap or attack their remaining parts.

Boggle is a word game where you are given a grid of letters and have to find as many words as possible in one sitting.

You can play with multiple players at once, and each round has a different set of letters.

Mastermind is a two-player game that requires concentration, strategy, and patience. Each player takes turns placing colored pegs into a grid of holes.

The goal is to guess your opponent’s secret code by correctly identifying the color and number of pegs hidden in their hand.

If a player guesses incorrectly, they must then reveal one or more of their pegs as punishment. At last, you can win the game by first guessing all nine correct numbers!

The game can get pretty intense—professional tournaments are held where players compete for cash prizes!

This game of physical skill is a classic, and it’s still as fun today as it was in the 1960s.

The game’s objective is to take turns placing your hand or foot on a corresponding color circle and make an unbroken line connecting two points on opposite sides of the board.

If you land on a spot where there are already two pieces (such as triangles), you must lift one off its space and move it elsewhere before continuing to play.

Dots and Boxes

Dots and Boxes is the 10th classic game like Tic Tac Toe on this list to remind you of your childhood memories. In this game, your goal is to connect four of your dots in a row.

You can do all this either horizontally or vertically.

The game is played on a grid — typically formed by drawing nine rows and nine columns on the paper — with each player taking turns placing one of their dots in any unoccupied space on the grid. If you can successfully connect all four of your dots, you win!

Go Fish

Go Fish is a card game where players take turns asking each other for cards they need to complete a hand. The game’s objective is to collect four matching cards in a row.

You are dealt with five cards, and the player who goes first asks another player if they have any specific card, such as a King or an Ace.

If you have that card, show it and put it face up on their pile. This continues until someone collects all of their required cards or no one has the requested card, at which time play passes clockwise around until one person wins!

Last but not least, Pictionary is another games like Tic Tac Toe where you’ve to draw pictures and try to guess them. It can be played with 2 or more players. With just two people, each player takes a turn drawing one picture until all the cards are gone. Repeat for the remaining rounds if you want to play for longer than one game.

Players get points for guessing correctly, but it’s also fun when everyone guesses wrong! This game is excellent for all ages because everyone has different ideas about what things look like—and sometimes those crazy ideas will lead to hilarious results!
