The immensely popular MMORPG that has kept players gripped for the past several years has conjured up many epic boss battles for the ages.
But which ones have stood out from the crowd whilst you have been searching for those rare WoW Classic items?
Across the franchise, in all renditions, we have seen some of the most challenging clashes come to a head, but some stand out from others, which you will find in this list.
C’thun
This is probably the most obvious name to make a list, especially where the vanilla version is concerned.
In fact, you couldn’t kill the boss in its first initial form, with players concluding that it was a mathematical impossibility for you to beat it.
Once Classic reared its head, we saw C’thun in its new state following a nerf that hasn’t really seen the boss causing many issues to those trying to defeat it.
That being said, it is still an easy contender for the list, with it being renowned as the most difficult boss to overcome in the vanilla version of the game.
Muru
This was another boss that caused a lot of issues before being nerfed. So much so that only five guilds were actually able to defeat it at this time.
To overcome this boss, guilds would need to enlist their members in leatherworking to gain access to the Heroism and Bloodlust ability, though the changes didn’t really improve that much after the nerf.
The game’s developers eventually had to step in so that players could move onto Kil’Jaeden, who will be discussed shortly.
Blizzard’s intervention may not have happened if Muru had been the particular raid’s last boss so that small mercies can be taken here.
Though the last boss is probably considered one of WoW’s hardest ever bosses, this is aided by the fact that Muru was a boss previous to this and was so difficult to get past.
Kil’Jaeden
Now we did mention that his name would be cropping up, didn’t we? Kil’Jaeden’s appearances in World of Warcraft have played havoc with its players.
He was statistically one of the hardest bosses to beat in Burning Crusade. However, his infamy lies within Legion, where it took over 650 attempts by the world’s best players before the first victory was recorded.
Europe’s Method guild was a long fight to take down Kil’Jaeden and was certainly not pretty to look at by any means. A secret Mythic phase didn’t help it at the end of the fight, so thinking on the spot was often necessary.
Uu’Nat
This was another fight that would cause many guild issues when trying to beat it. There seems to be a common theme in terms of the traits to consider the bosses for this list.
These traits seem to focus on how tactically adverse the fight would be and how long it would take to complete. Whilst these may seem like obvious points to measure against, they were especially true for the names on this list, and Uu’Nat was no exception to the rule.
This was a long and tactically difficult fight to overcome, which often relied on players having their entire guild alive until the end of the battle.
European guild Piece eventually fell the boss after 731 attempts, which was the stepping stone to them cementing their names as one of the game’s best guilds in general.
Lich King
The Lich King’s infamy relates to it being exploited in ways that you probably weren’t expecting to hear about.
It was around when bosses could be attempted a capped 50 times a week when in Heroic, so needless to say, it wasn’t something that was achieved overnight.
Though the fight wasn’t riddled with bugs or anything that would make the boss unkillable, it did raise eyebrows with a bug that related to the Saronite Bombs that could be used as a consumable that would help create fake platforms in a sense.
Conclusion
So across the whole WoW franchise, we have seen some amazing and literally impossible bosses at some point or another.
If you are back in the old rendition of the game hunting those evasive WoW Classic gold or items, or you are enjoying the latest expansion to Blizzard’s MMORPG, there is bound to be something out there that is ready to challenge you to your limits.
There may not be as many limitations as there used to be. Still, nevertheless, there is plenty out in the Wide World of Warcraft that will keep you and your peers occupied for the foreseeable future, regardless of which version of the game you prefer to play on.
