TickTick vs Notion: Which One is Better Note-Taking Apps?

TickTick vs Notion

Gone are the days when you had to use pen & paper to write down your notes,

Today, you can take digital notes using several note-taking apps and save them on the cloud.

So, whenever you need them, you’re one click away from accessing them.

But one thing to note is, out of dozens of note-taking apps available online, which one’s suitable for you?

Well, for that, I’ve shortlisted two note-taking apps for you – TickTick & Notion.

And that’s why, in this post,  I’ll compare these two apps to let you know which one’s better than the other.

What is TickTick?

TickTick is a web-based task management and project planning tool. It’s simple, straightforward, and easy to use, no matter how technical.

The interface is clean and intuitive—you can add tasks, organize them into projects and subprojects, set due dates, assign people to them, set priorities or tags on them (i.e., “work” or “personal”), and add notes to each task (which are easily searchable) and more.

The free version comes with 5 projects per user but also allows you to create as many custom ones as you need so long as they’re under 2 GB in size each (that said, there seems to be no fundamental limitation on the number of tasks contained within these projects).

What is Notion?

Notion is a note-taking app that helps you organize and find your notes.

Additionally, you can use it for organizing thoughts, ideas, and information. It’s handy if you’re working on projects with others since it lets you share notes with them easily.

Suppose you’re trying to get some work done at home or in the office but don’t want to be distracted by social media notifications on your phone screen every few minutes.

In that case, Notion makes it easy to stay focused without missing out on essential updates from coworkers or family members who may need help from time to time.

How to Create New Page in TickTick?

Creating a new page in TickTick is easy. You just need to click on the plus icon and choose “Page” from the drop-down menu.

After that, you can enter a name for your new page and add a description if you want to. Then simply click on Save, and you’re good to go!

How to Create New Page in Notion?

You can also create a new page by clicking on ‘+’ and then naming it based on your requirement (in my case, I am naming it “Ideas for this Blog Post”). After giving an appropriate title, click on Create Page to create your first ever Notion document!

How to Add Task in TickTick?

To add a task in TickTick, you need to click on the button at the top of your screen. This will open up a pop-up window where you can enter the name of your task and its due date.

You can also select its priority, tags, and assignees from this window. TickTick also allows users to add notes to their tasks.

How to Add Task in Notion?

TickTick vs Notion: Task Management

Notion and TickTick both have task management systems. The main difference between them is that Notion is more complex, allowing user collaboration and sharing tasks with team members. TickTick does not allow for this level of collaboration or sharing.

With Notion, you can add tasks to an individual notebook or create a new Notebook for each task/project (like I did).

This makes it easy to organize your work into separate projects so that you know exactly what needs to be done at any given time without having to go through all your notes first just to find out which project they belong to (and vice versa).

TickTick offers a simple task manager that allows users to assign themselves or others specific tasks within the app (similar to how Google Calendar operates). However, suppose you want true collaboration between team members.

In that case, it might be better suited to use something like Trello instead because there’s no way for one person outside their account who wants access without being added as an editor first–which takes up valuable time when trying to collaborate remotely across multiple teams!

TickTick vs Notion: Features.

Both apps are available on iOS, Android, and the web. You can use TickTick to manage your tasks, projects, and team members. It also has a built-in calendar that helps you plan your schedule better.

However, one aspect where it lags behind Notion is its lack of notebook features.

On the other hand, Notion is more suited for note-taking as it lets users create notes in different formats, such as Markdown or Microsoft Word documents.

For example, suppose you want to create an outline structure or bullet points while writing a blog post.

In that case, a formatting option will be helpful since it offers far more control over how you want things formatted than what TickTick provides through its text editor.

TickTick vs Notion: Pricing.

TickTick’s premium plan unlocks full calendar functionality, customized filters, progress tracker, widgets, and other exclusive features at $27.99 per year.

Notion, on the other hand, is a little more complicated. As of this writing (September 2022), Notion has two tiers of official pricing: $4 per month for personal pro and $8 per month for teams with unlimited team members.

If you’re a small business owner who wants a robust note-taking app that keeps track of your expenses and tasks in one spot, Notion may be for you—as long as you don’t mind paying extra monthly.

However, whether or not it will work for your team depends on how many people are using it at once.

If multiple people are working together on projects regularly (and therefore sharing notes), then $25 might not seem like such an outrageous price tag.

That said, if the cost isn’t an issue and all your employees already use Google Drive or Dropbox, then Notion may be worth considering over TickTick because they offer free trials, so users can try out the platform before making any commitments!

TickTick vs Notion: Which One is Better?

If you’re looking for a note-taking app that can help you organize your life, TickTick is the better choice.

It has a more polished interface and is available for less than half the Notion price.

TickTick offers features Notion doesn’t have—like an integrated calendar and document scanner.

However, if you want an app with more functionality and features than TickTick or Notion can offer on their own (for example, task management tools), then perhaps it’s worth considering both apps together to get everything you need in one place.

Conclusion

TickTick and Notion are two of the best note-taking apps, and they’re both great.

They have a lot of similarities, but they also have unique features that make them worth using in your day-to-day life.

I hope this article has helped you decide which one is right for you!
