The gameplay consists of simple exploration with some platforming elements thrown in for good measure; however, what makes this game stand out from others like it is its dark atmosphere combined with extremely effective use of lighting effects (or lack thereof).
The player must navigate through levels filled with obstacles such as spikes or other deadly tools used by humans against each other during war times—and sometimes even animals.

Lara Croft GO

Inside is a puzzle-adventure game developed by Playdead. It was released on Microsoft Windows and Xbox One in June 2016 and PlayStation 4 in August 2016. The game is presented in a 2.5D side-scrolling fashion, emphasizing exploration and atmosphere over brutality.
Inside follows the journey of a young boy as he searches for his lost sister in a hostile world full of dangers, such as starvation and other humans who will do anything to survive. You must find food for yourself while avoiding death at all costs.
The Witness
The Witness is a puzzle game developed by Thekla and published by Sony Interactive Entertainment. It was released for PlayStation 4 on January 26, 2016, and later released for Microsoft Windows and Xbox One in October 2018.
The Witness has been well-received by critics, who praised its art direction, sound design, level design, and overall presentation while criticizing some of the puzzles’ difficulty.
The game involves solving puzzles to explore an open-world island with no narrative elements or characters besides those needed to help solve specific puzzles within each area of the game world; there is no way to fail at these individual challenges other than giving up on them entirely (and even then you can still leave an uncompleted puzzle behind).
Machinarium
Machinarium is a point-and-click adventure game developed by Amanita Design. It was released on Windows, Mac OS X, and iOS platforms in 2009 but came to Android in 2013.
The game has since been ported to PlayStation 4 and Xbox One, which is now available as a digital download from the PlayStation Store or Microsoft Store (also physically available).
Machinarium puts you in control of a tiny robot who awakens alone in a strange world full of puzzles that must be solved if he hopes to return home.

Braid
Braid is a puzzle-platformer video game developed by Number None and published by Microsoft Studios for the Xbox 360. It was released on August 8, 2008, in North America, September 4, 2008, in Europe, and September 24, 2008, in Japan.
The game follows Tim as he attempts to rescue Princess Rosella from an evil sorcerer while solving puzzles related to time manipulation.
The player can manipulate time forward or backward at will; this affects all objects within range of Tim’s current position (unless they are part of a cutscene).
This allows him to solve simple environmental puzzles, such as pushing blocks out of his way or building staircases up walls using existing pieces of architecture found throughout each level.
More complex puzzles require careful forethought about how best to use your powers to avoid trapping yourself behind bars or spikes that cannot be escaped unless you reset time far enough so that no threats are left when you try again later down the line.
Gorogoa
Gorogoa is a beautiful puzzle game that won the award for best visual art at this year’s Game Developers Conference. It’s also one of the most relaxing games you’ll play in your life, as it follows a boy who must restore order to his world by solving four different puzzles.
The game is gorgeous: each scene has its unique style, from a desert landscape to an underwater world filled with sea creatures and coral reefs.
But what makes Gorogoa so special is how these scenes are connected—you can move around pieces of your puzzle board like you’re arranging tiles on an Etch-a-Sketch, which results in some truly surreal imagery (like one where a monster eats its own tail).
Samorost
Samorost is a point-and-click adventure game that features a very unique art style. You play as a little gnome who must help the environment and explore many different worlds to save his planet from destruction.
The game has no words and doesn’t even have music, but it makes up for this with its amazing visuals.
